Summer Professional Development Seminar for Spanish Teachers Worldwide

What professional development do we offer Spanish teachers?

A professional development opportunity ‚Äď in beautiful Alicante, Spain ‚Äď to learn about the latest language-learning techniques. You will gain new tools, ideas, and resources to incorporate into your teaching.

The course is designed in independent but complementary sessions, of 4 hours each, with a clear, practical approach, in which teachers participate in the activities that they will later use with their students.

Experienced language teachers will send you home with practical approaches to use in your classroom

  • A skills-building seminar for Spanish teachers
  • 4 classroom hours (9 am ‚Äď 1:30 pm, Monday ‚Äď Friday, 30-minute break included)
  • A team of qualified, experienced teachers from the university‚Äôs Centro Superior de Idiomas will provide the in-class content.
  • Language of instruction: Spanish
  • Memorable cultural activities in the afternoon

Itinerary and Syllabus

New applicants can enroll in Week 1 or in Weeks 1 & 2.  New applicants may not enroll in Week 2 only.  If you are a returning participant, please enroll in Week 2 only.

One classroom session will be dedicated to each of the following (actual titles may vary slightly):

BLOCK 1 - WHAT DO I TEACH? CAN I MAKE IT EVEN BETTER?

BLOCK 2 - WHO DO I TEACH? STUDENTS IN THE XXI CENTURY

Pricing

Included in the price: tuition, room & board, cultural activities, day trips, welcome/farewell meals, health insurance, course materials, ground transportation for official program activities

Not included: airfare, personal expenses

Lodging for the program is at Villa Universitaria (the residence hall of the University of Alicante).
